Thanks to our friends at Pocket Underground and electrifying performances from Christian Martin, Worthy and Joplin, the third installment of Woogie Nights was an overwhelming success!

In addition to a packed dance floor all night, our second annual Food and Fund drive was also a success. Many of you chose to make cash donations instead of traditional food donations, but thanks to the LA Food Bank’s resources all those cash donations can reach much further than a single food item! Overall we raised enough funds for the LA Food Bank to purchase $500 worth of food! Thank you all for your generous donations. We always do amazing things together!

The demand for the night began weeks before the event even started, with many of you opting in for our discount ticket option, which for reference is available for every show we put on, as our way of saying thanks to our loyal fans.

Joplin was first up, and her performance showed why she is a SoCal favorite. Her track selection helped create a very fun and playful start to the night. By the end of her performance, the dance floor was packed, and the stage was set for more to come.

Worthy was up next, and the first of our 2 guest from the Dirtybird crew. Worthy lived up to his crew’s name, and brought a very “dirty” style of house into the King King. In fact, he felt comfortable playing dance music from various genres. The only connecting factor is that the music made you move. People could be seen dancing from the front of the stage to the back wall, and during the 2 hours of his performance, the energy only increased.

Just when we thought we’d reach critical mass, Christian Martin stepped up to the decks, and took us over the edge. For those that were there to hear it, the music that came out of the Funktion-One sound system were breaking new grounds in all things dirty, sexy, and low frequency funk. Christian played bass lines that scratched our ears, and beats that made us wobble. His talent and understanding of the dance floor was evident til the last beat, when by 3am, many of you were still dancing!

From all of us at The Do LaB and our friends at Pocket Underground, thank you for your continued support of Woogie Nights! Tell us what you thought of the night in the comment section below.
